Creative Little Scientists

Creative Little Scientists is an FP7 research project (2011-2014) which aims to bring together creativity and science and mathematics in preschool and the first years of primary education (until the age of eight). It has provided a clear picture of existing and possible practices, as well as their implications and the related opportunities and challenges. Based on these insights, the project has also proposed guidelines, curricula and exemplary materials for relevant teacher training in various European contexts.

To achieve this, the Creative Little Scientists project brought together a consortium, comprising quality expertise in the field of science and mathematics education in early childhood, creativity in education, cognitive psychology, comparative educational studies, and teacher training. This consortium carried out research in nine European countries (Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Malta, Portugal, Romania, and the UK) which were selected to  represent a wide spectrum of educational, economic, social and cultural contexts.
